One Community: A Juneteenth Celebration in Kennesaw

One Community: A Juneteenth Celebration is hosted by the Kennesaw Police Citizens Advisory Board. The free event invites residents to spend part of the day with local officers in a relaxed park setting. The afternoon includes free food, music, games, and bouncy houses for kids.

Juneteenth marks the day in 1865 when enslaved people in Galveston, Texas, learned they were free, more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation. In Kennesaw, this event recognizes that history with an afternoon filled with culture, conversation, and positive connections between residents and local law enforcement.

The celebration is open to all ages and free to attend. Guests can stop by for lunch, let the kids play, listen to music, and enjoy a summer afternoon at one of Kennesaw’s busiest parks.
