Ah-Beetz New Haven Pizza

Ah-Beetz Brings New Haven Pizza to Kennesaw

Ah-Beetz New Haven Pizza, founded by Nicholas Laudano, is opening its newest location at 125 Ernest W Barrett Parkway NW, bringing its New Haven-style pizza with its signature crispy, chewy crust and bold, smoky flavor to the Kennesaw area.

This will be the fifth location for the growing brand and the first outside of Florida. Laudano grew up in New Haven, Connecticut, the city regarded by some to be the pizza capital of the United States, and built Ah-Beetz using his family’s long-standing recipe, dating back to 1976. His goal: to share the authentic taste of New Haven without compromising the methods that define it.

Why Apizza Matters

“Ah-Beetz” isn’t a clever rebranding, it’s how the word “pizza” is pronounced in Southern Connecticut, and it reflects a serious commitment to tradition. New Haven pizza is known for its thin, coal-fired crust, cooked at extremely high temperatures (often over 750 degrees) to develop a deep char and a chewy, flavorful bite. The dough is fermented for days before it’s hand-pressed, topped with premium ingredients, and fired to perfection. Each pie is an example of New Haven’s no-nonsense approach to pizza: simple ingredients, bold flavor, and no shortcuts.

What’s on the Menu

Classic options like the Mootz Pizza (mozzarella, Pecorino Romano, oregano, and tomato sauce) are joined by New Haven icons such as the White Clam Pizza, made with garlic oil, oregano, and fresh littleneck clams. More modern creations like BBQ Chicken Pizza, Buffalo Chicken, and Margherita pizza also appear on the menu.

In addition to pizza, guests can expect hand-folded calzones, wings with house seasoning, fresh salads, and crisp-shelled cannoli for dessert (some locations have chocolate cake or cheesecake as well). Everything is made with the same focus on flavor and technique that defines the Ah-Beetz experience.

Opening in August of 2025 (we think)

Located in the Barrett Creek Plaza at Town Center near Buffalo Wild Wings in the former Twisted Kitchen space, the new restaurant is a dine-in pizzeria with seating for 50 to 60 guests. With high-heat ovens, old-world recipes, and a commitment to doing things the right way, Ah-Beetz plans to deliver a slice of New Haven right here in Kennesaw.

    • The menu at Ah-Beetz starts with traditional pies like the Mootz Pizza, made with tomato sauce, mozzarella, pecorino Romano, and a sprinkle of oregano. The white pizzas are topped with mozzarella, garlic, and herbs with no tomato sauce. Signature pies include the BBQ Chicken and Buffalo Chicken pizzas, both topped with mozzarella, red onion, chicken, and either barbecue sauce or a spicy hot sauce. The Margherita pizza has fresh basil and fresh mozzarella, and seafood lovers will spot the White Clam Pizza featuring clams shucked daily (if you get this, there is a warning on the menu about the occasional shell). Veggie combinations like White Broccoli & Garlic or Spinach & Tomato add some green to the menu.

The restaurant also serves wings in both bone-in and boneless, along with calzones available in small and large, with cheese and whatever extras customers choose. Salads include Italian, Caesar, and a Gorgonzola Cranberry mix, and for dessert there are cannoli (and possibly more, TBA).
