A New Chapter for a Local Favorite.
Smash Hit Burgers began rolling through Kennesaw in 2023, and the brand has been on a steady climb since day one. After two years of long lines, two food trucks, and back-to-back Best Food Truck in Georgia awards, Zac and Myah Patterson are taking the next step. Their first brick-and-mortar location is set for the former site of The Nest, with a target opening of February 2026. Zac has been a familiar name in the area for more than 15 years as a local chef, and the new project reflects the momentum the pair has built through consistent flavor and plenty of personality.
The restaurant will span two buildings connected by a central patio. One building will house a full-service dining room offering beer and wine. The other will operate as a to-go kitchen and a milkshake bar featuring hand-spun shakes. The patio will feature a retractable roof along with heaters and fans to keep things comfortable throughout the year.
A dedicated food truck pad at the front of the property will keep their mobile roots firmly in place. Before the grand opening, guests can expect pre-opening food truck pop-ups with live music on the patio starting in November 2025.
The menu stays true to the smashed patty style that gained such a strong following, including specialty builds like Cuban smashes, pimento cheese smashes, brisket burnt ends smashes, and cheesesteak smashes. A dedicated chicken finger lineup is also in the works with a variety of dipping sauces. Burger alternatives, vegan selections, and gluten-free options round out the menu so everyone can find something to enjoy.
The Pay It Forward program will continue at the new site. Guests can purchase meal tickets that the team matches to support on-duty first responders and people who could use a helping hand. The program will remain active on both food trucks as well as at the brick-and-mortar downtown Kennesaw location.
Guests can expect live music, warm lighting, heated seating on cool evenings, fans during warm summers, cold beer, great wines, and a milkshake bar ready to keep things sweet. The setup keeps the feel lively while highlighting all the familiar favorites that built the brand.
