The Kennesaw Grand Prix Series brings four 5K races to downtown Kennesaw in 2026, giving runners plenty of chances to chase a personal record on a mostly flat, fast asphalt course. The series is professionally timed, USATF certified, and serves as a Peachtree Road Race qualifier, making it a strong option for competitive runners. At the same time, the lively race-day setup, post-race refreshments, and family-friendly extras keep it welcoming for beginners, walkers, and parents with kids in tow.
The 4 races are:
- April 11, 2026: Fit City 5K
- June 6, 2026: Summer Sun Run 5K
- September 19, 2026: Harvest Hustle 5K
- October 31, 2026: Nightmare on Main 5K
All four races begin at Kennesaw First Baptist Church, located at 2958 N. Main Street in Kennesaw. The course runs through downtown Kennesaw and Swift-Cantrell Park, giving participants a scenic route without adding the sort of hills that make runners question their life choices before breakfast.
Each race day follows the same schedule. Race-day packet pickup and registration open at 6:30 am. The 1 Mile Fun Run starts at 7:30 am, followed by the wheelchair start at 8 am and the 5K at 8:05 am. The Tot Trot begins at 8:55 am, and the awards ceremony starts at 9:15 am.
Awards are presented to the overall male and female winners, the male and female masters winners, and the top three finishers in 12 age groups. All races are electronically timed.
After the race, participants can head to Main Street at the corner of Watts Drive for refreshments and the post-race festivities. The after-party includes snacks, bottled water, music, and local vendors. Water will not be available on the course, so runners who want it during the race should bring their own.
Restrooms will be available in the church parking lot near the start area and near the finish line at the corner of Main Street and Cherokee Street beside the BurgerFi parking lot.

Are these races Peachtree road race qualifiers?
Yes, these races are Peachtree road race qualifiers and an excellent fit for competitive runners who are looking to qualify for the Peachtree Road Race.
I saw someone ask about the pay 5 races, get the 6th free. Which is the 5th race you need to pay for? I only see the 4 listed in the Grand Prix.
That comment was from a previous year with a different race schedule.
Another question, are all races stroller friendly? Thanks!
Do you have to register for 4 of the 6 races at one time to qualify for the sweatshirt or do they check participation at the end of the series?
Are you still offering pay for 5 races and get one as a bonus?
yes we are offering pay for 5 get the 6th free. there is a grand prix kick off on April 18th at Big Peach where you can for the races.

Hi Nina,
Yes, they are really scheduled races, though I am not sure why the city is having difficulty keeping them updated and online.
Is the schedule for the 2014 Grand Prix 5k’s out yet?
