The Summer Backyard Campout takes place at Swift-Cantrell Park and features camping under the night sky as well as backyard games, dinner, s’mores, breakfast, campfire entertainment, stargazing, a movie, and more. This year’s event is combined with the second Outdoor Movie of the year with a showing of The Parent Trap at 8:45 pm.
Admission:
$25 per campsite if you bring your own tent, or $50 per campsite for a REI Co-op Prepared tent. Includes breakfast at 7:30 am. Advanced registration is required. Only tent camping is allowed – no open air sleeping. Participants will need to bring their own tent. Only one tent is allowed per campsite.

What to bring:
- Tent with rainfly
- Ground cloth or tarp
- Sleeping bags (or sheets and blankets) and pillows
- Camping pad, air mattress or extra blankets to sleep on
- Clothing appropriate for the weather
- Pajamas, sweats or other sleepwear
- Personal items (toiletries, prescription medications, etc.)
- Beverages (drinking water will be available)
- Flashlight or lantern
- Bug spray
- Small trash bag
- Card games or books (optional)
- Camera (optional)
Fires:
Individual fires and open flames are not allowed at campsites. There will be several community campfires for group gathering.

- Parking will be available on-site. Vehicles cannot be used to drop-off equipment at the campground. Equipment will need to be carried or rolled to the campground from the parking lot.
