Wreaths Across America

Honoring Veterans with Holiday Wreaths

Kennesaw City Cemetery will again participate in National Wreaths Across America Day on Saturday, December 13, 2025, with a noon ceremony followed by wreath placement across the grounds. This year, 139 veterans wreaths will be laid thanks to contributions from local volunteers and sponsorship groups, each one placed in recognition of a life spent in service.

The ceremony is co-sponsored by the Kennesaw Cemetery Commission and the Kennesaw Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, who lead this annual observance each year. The program will feature remarks from Mayor Derek Easterling, along with participation from local lineage societies, JROTC and Scout representatives, veterans, active service members, and families. Once the formal remarks conclude, attendees help place wreaths at veterans graves, often pausing to read each name aloud. Comfortable shoes are a smart idea, since the afternoon involves more walking than a typical holiday shopping trip.
