Flavors of Fall Festival

Bring your family by Smith-Gilbert Gardens for the  Flavors of Fall Festival on Saturday, Oct. 20th, 2012.  The annual Flavors of Fall Festival is the perfect opportunity to tour the Smith-Gilbert autumn garden. Grab a picnic dinner from a food truck, sample beer and wine from local breweries and wineries and enjoy music by the Bill Van Dyke Trio. There will be plein air paintings on display and for sale, poetry reading, kid’s activities, and even square dancing – all for the normal price of Gardens admission!

  • Watch spinner Veronica Carey.
  • Pastel portraits while you wait by artist Don Maier.
  • Wood Carvers.
  • Poetry reading by Christopher Martin.
  • Cake walk for children, pumpkin painting.
  • Meet bonsai master in bonsai enclosure.
  • View Plein Air artwork in Hiram Butler House.

3:30 pm

  • Docent led tour.

4pm

  • Docent led tour.
  • Square dancing with caller Frank Anderson.

6pm

  • Judging of apple pie baking contest by local celebrity chef Johnnie Gabriel. (Download Registration Form Now)
  • Music by the Bill Van Dyke trio.
  • Enjoy dinner from the Happy Belly Gourmet, Pressed for Time or King of Pops food trucks below the rose garden. Great Harvest Bread Company will also bring those award winning “cupcakes” they carry in the store.
  • Enjoy hot chocolate or Coke floats.
