Kansas City Barbeque Society (KCBS) Certified BBQ Judging Class
Update: Although no official announcement has been made as of today (5/20/2010), the Kansas City Barbeque Society website shows that there is a class scheduled to be held in Kennesaw on January 15, 2011. No further details are available yet, so check back with us later this year for more information.
The City of Kennesaw will be hosting a Kansas City Barbeque Society (KCBS) Certified BBQ Judging Class on Saturday, January 23, 2010 from 10:30am to 3:30pm at the Ben Robertson Community Center, 2753 Watts Drive, Kennesaw, GA 30144. The class will be taught by Ron Harwell and Harvey Hamrick, KCBS Master Certified Judges, Certified Judge Instructors and Competition Representatives. Upon completion of the class, participants will be certified KCBS Judges with all rights and privileges, and be qualified to judge any KCBS BBQ Competition.

H1N1 Swine flu mass clinic at KSU in Kennesaw
Cobb & Douglas Public Health has H1N1 vaccine available at all local public health centers for anyone ages 6 months and older. In addition, there will be an H1N1 Mass Flu Clinic on Saturday, December 19, 2009 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at KSU Center – Continuing Education Building – (Not Main Campus) 3333 Busbee Drive Kennesaw, GA 30144. They are also planning an additional H1N1 mass clinic on Saturday, January 9, 2010 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. again at Kennesaw State University in Cobb County, pending vaccine availability. The H1N1 flu vaccine will be provided at no cost to anyone 6 months of age and older.

What’s Under Rocks?
Artist and nature lover Palma Rhoades will lead children around the Garden turning over rocks, logs, leaves and discussing all the creatures they discover. Children must be accompanied by an adult during program. Please call Garden office to register.

Through The Ages: A Living History Timeline

Experience living and military history up close and personal! See first-hand weapon demonstrations from swords to cannons and rifles, as well as military vehicles and flag displays. You’ll see soldiers – from Romans to World Wars I and II and modern day! Experience daily life throughout time from farming to doll making to metalworking. You’ll even get to meet historical characters like Abraham Lincoln and Queen Elizabeth I. It’s happening right here in Kennesaw!
