Kennesaw Mountain National Battlefield Park
Activities: Kennesaw Mountain National Battlefield Park is a 2,884 acre park featuring over 17 miles of trails spanning from Kolb's Farm to just north of the visitor's center. Kennesaw mountain was home to some of the heaviest fighting of the Georgia Campaign of the Civil War. At this national park, you can take a hike, watch the wildlife, take pictures, watch a living history demonstration, and more. The top of Kennesaw Mountain rises 1800 feet above sea level and provides spectacular views of downtown Atlanta and the surrounding area.
Admission: Free
Hours: Dawn to Dusk year round
The Visitor Center is open daily from 8:30am-5:00pm. On weekends during daylight savings time, 8:30am-6:00pm. The building is closed on Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's Day.

a shuttle bus service is available
Although the road is closed to private vehicles, a shuttle bus service is available on Saturday and Sunday. This bus will take you to the top of the mountain and back down. Alternatively, you can hike to the top on foot.
